A native of Louisiana, Anita LeJeune holds a bachelor degree in fine arts from Lousiana State Univeristy.  She has been painting professionally since 1986.  Being a member of numerous galleries and art associations she has networked with many fine artists.

Anita finds inspiration in many ordinary scenes.  Living in Louisiana has enabled her to meet many fine people and places.   Her love of animals seems compelling enough to pop up on her canvases quite regularly.  Her paintings often focus on animals, landscapes, and the people of Louisiana doing what they do best.

Her work also includes murals, which are done both exterior and interior.  Her ability to work in a wide range of techniques allows her to create a varety of subjects.  Louisiana crawfish scenes, different aspects of farming, sugar cane plantations, Italian garden scenes, and Greek ruins have graced the walls in many homes throughout the United States.

Anita LeJeune is also a Community Artist for the Greater Baton Rouge Arts Council.  She teaches her art form to students of all ages throughout schools in several parishes.

She is driven to paint just as someone is driven to fulfill any curiosity.  Her subjects seem to call her.  Anita is quite attentive to her creative will.  “Once an idea is fomed, I am complelled to create.  The painting just draws me in.”
”Painting for me is essential, the excitement never goes away. I paint to discover, to share a moment, to follow a desire, and finally to fulfill a curiosity.”

She resides in Lakeland, Louisiana with her husband Glynn, and two sons, Derek and Taylor.
